Telangana BJP chief submits report on Bandi Sanjay's son arrest

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao has submitted a detailed report to the party's central leadership in Delhi concerning the arrest of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar's son, Sai Bageerath, in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) case. According to party sources, Rao departed for Delhi on Wednesday morning to brief senior leaders personally.

Comprehensive Report Submitted

Sources revealed that Rao had initially provided some details immediately after the case was registered. However, the party subsequently requested a more comprehensive report, which he is expected to submit to BJP national president Nitin Nabin. The report is understood to include not only the Pocso case but also an assessment of the recent public meeting addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parade Grounds in Hyderabad, along with internal feedback and perceptions surrounding that event.

While the precise contents of both reports have not been officially disclosed, they are believed to be significant for the party's central leadership, particularly at a time when the organisation is managing multiple politically sensitive developments in Telangana.

Bandi Sanjay Visits BJP Office

Meanwhile, Bandi Sanjay visited the BJP office in Abids on Wednesday for the first time since his son came under police investigation in the Pocso case. A number of his supporters gathered outside the office and raised slogans expressing solidarity with him. Speaking to reporters, Sanjay stated that the matter falls under the Pocso framework and therefore he would not comment in detail. He added that he has full faith in the legal system and noted that, as a father, he ensured his son surrendered to the police.

Sanjay alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has been running a campaign of falsehoods around the issue. Responding to criticism and calls from the opposition for his removal from the Union cabinet, he said the controversy was politically motivated. "We were the ones who challenged the BRS and unseated K. Chandrashekar Rao. So it's no surprise they are making a big fuss about this," he said.

Political Future Clarified

Addressing speculation about his political future, including rumours of forming a new party, Sanjay affirmed his commitment to the BJP. "I am committed to saffron activism. All of us would want a saffron flag wrapped around our bodies when we die. I am also like that," he said.

This development comes amid heightened political activity in Telangana, with the BJP seeking to consolidate its position ahead of upcoming elections. The arrest of Bandi Sanjay's son has added a new dimension to the state's political dynamics, with the opposition targeting the Union minister.
