Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Sharpens Attack on Opposition in Tamil Nadu Campaign

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday utilized the Women's Reservation (Amendment) Bill as a political weapon during a campaign rally in Tamil Nadu, launching a sharp attack against the DMK and Congress parties. He accused both opposition groups of obstructing women's political advancement and called upon voters in the southern state to "settle the score" during the upcoming April 23 assembly elections.

Women's Reservation Bill Becomes Central Campaign Issue

"I truly want to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the way he fought for women's dignity," Yadav declared at the poll rally. "Had this Women's Reservation Bill been passed, our seats in Tamil Nadu would have increased significantly, and women would have become MPs, MLAs, ministers, and more. But the DMK and Congress have deliberately blocked their path. I expect you to settle the score with them decisively in this election."

The Chief Minister was campaigning in poll-bound Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, specifically supporting BJP candidate L Murugan from the Avinashi assembly seat. Murugan serves as Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and represents Madhya Pradesh as a Rajya Sabha member.

Campaigning in Crucial Avinashi Constituency

Avinashi is a scheduled caste reserved constituency that spans across two districts—Coimbatore and Tiruppur. Yadav participated in a road show alongside Murugan and delivered what was described as the final public address before campaigning concluded for the polling phase.

"In this election season, I have come to Avinashi—the sacred land of Lord Rameshwaram—from Madhya Pradesh with the blessings of Baba Mahakal," the Chief Minister stated. "We are at the end of the day; election campaigning will end in 25 minutes, but seeing your tremendous enthusiasm and excitement, it appears we are heading toward a landslide victory under the ideology of Amma Jayalalithaa. The NDA is contesting these elections firmly grounded in that very ideology."

Praise for PM Modi and Call for Vigilance

Yadav asserted that the people of India are fortunate to experience the positive atmosphere created under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He described L Murugan as "PM Modi's capable minister" and urged supporters to work tirelessly until the last vote is cast in favor of their candidate.

Murugan has been fielded by the BJP against DMK candidate Gokilamani in what promises to be a closely watched contest. "The poor, common man, and every member of their families must receive the opportunity to become ministers, chief ministers, and prime ministers in our democracy," Yadav emphasized. "This represents the core vision of our NDA alliance. However, the DMK and Congress want to concentrate all power within a single family; this election constitutes a direct fight against that very tendency."

Religious and Cultural Dimensions Added to Political Critique

The Chief Minister further described Tamil Nadu as "the capital of temples in the country" but expressed disappointment with the DMK's approach to religious practices. "In such a state of deep faith, when the reign of Lord Ram is gaining global recognition, these DMK authorities have imposed unnecessary restrictions. It is with great regret that I must mention how they resort to lathi charges during the immersion of Hindu idols," he stated, referencing the seizure of Ganpati idols during immersion ceremonies in August and September of last year.

"This election presents a crucial opportunity to settle scores with the current DMK government," Yadav declared, making his position unequivocally clear to the assembled crowd.

Direct Appeal to BJP Workers and Earlier Campaign Events

Yadav made a specific appeal to BJP workers in the Avinashi constituency, urging them to remain exceptionally vigilant until the final vote is counted. "These DMK individuals are notoriously mischievous, corrupt, dishonest, and deceitful. They will undoubtedly conspire against fair elections. But all of you must maintain constant vigilance until the last vote is cast. Whatever responsibilities you have been assigned within your constituency, do not rest until every single vote is secured for the BJP," he instructed party workers.

Earlier in the afternoon, Yadav had addressed another election public meeting at the Rasipuram assembly seat in Namakkal district. There, BJP candidate SD Premkumar is competing against DMK's M Mathiventhan, adding another layer to the intense political battle unfolding across Tamil Nadu.
