Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given the green light to a massive Rs 4,150.46 crore development plan for Pandharpur, the revered temple town dedicated to Lord Vitthal. The approval came during a high-level meeting of the Pandharpur Tirthakshetra Development Plan Steering Committee, chaired by the Chief Minister himself.

Comprehensive Development Blueprint

The comprehensive plan aims to transform Pandharpur into a world-class pilgrimage destination while preserving its spiritual essence. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister, among other officials.

Key Features of the Plan

The approved blueprint encompasses a wide range of infrastructure and amenities to enhance the experience of millions of devotees, known as warkaris, who undertake long journeys to the temple of Lord Vitthal, especially during the auspicious occasion of Ashanti Ekadasi. The plan includes improved road connectivity, better sanitation facilities, upgraded water supply systems, and enhanced accommodation options for pilgrims.
