Hyderabad: Kacheguda police rescued a 33-year-old man who was attempting suicide on railway tracks near Kacheguda railway station late on Thursday after the man called Dial 100 for help at around 11 pm.
Swift Action by Police
Patrol vehicle staff along with the night duty officer from Kacheguda police station rushed to the spot and found the man lying on the railway track as the Vande Bharat Express was approaching. Cops pulled him away in time, preventing a fatal incident.
Identification of the Individual
The man was identified as Madhav, a native of Bidar in Karnataka, staying with his mother and sister at Malakpet. According to police, Madhav was upset after a heated argument earlier in the day with his sister. In a depressed state, he consumed alcohol and went to the railway tracks intending to end his life.
Call for Help and Rescue
However, after a while, he became frightened and dialled 100. After the rescue, Madhav was handed over to the Government Railway Police of Kacheguda for counselling. The timely intervention of the police saved his life, highlighting the importance of emergency response systems.
