Two men were killed and one was injured after a speeding car crashed into a roadside tree in the Mandawar area of Bijnor district early Saturday, police said. The driver is suspected to have fallen asleep during the long journey.
Accident Details
The accident took place around 5 a.m. on Ranipur Road when the three individuals were traveling from Hardoi to Haridwar. Sultan, 66, and Raja, 35, both residents of Haridwar district, died on the spot.
The third passenger, Ajharuddin, 25, from Yamunanagar in Haryana, was critically injured and was being treated at Bijnor district hospital. Police have sent the bodies for postmortem.
Police Response
Local authorities reached the scene shortly after the incident and initiated an investigation. The injured person's condition remains critical.
