UP Launches Sandhya Samvad Outreach in Devipatan

The Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch a new outreach initiative named Sandhya Samvad, aimed at ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last mile. The programme will be launched from a gram panchayat in Shravasti, located in the Devipatan division, on May 8. During this event, the divisional commissioner, Durga Shakti Nagpal, will interact with villagers in an open chaupal and attempt to resolve their problems on the spot.

Programme Details

As part of the initiative, camps will also be organised in gram panchayats to provide benefits of welfare schemes to eligible beneficiaries who have not yet enrolled. The programme will be conducted at the gram panchayat level across four districts of the division: Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti, and Balrampur. This will provide villagers with a platform to present their problems, suggestions, and experiences directly before the administration.

Objectives and Benefits

According to Nagpal, this initiative will not only enable quick resolution of issues but will also help identify obstacles in the implementation of various government schemes. She added that a one-day special camp will be organised in selected villages, where eligible individuals will be provided benefits of various government schemes on the spot. Certificates will also be distributed to beneficiaries on the same day so that they do not have to visit government offices later.
