In a significant crackdown on drug networks, Thane police arrested 23 individuals, including two foreign nationals, and seized narcotics valued at approximately Rs 1.4 crore during a week-long special anti-drug campaign, a senior police official confirmed on Thursday.

The anti-drug operation targeted areas under the Mira-Bhayandar and Vasai-Virar police commissionerates (zone 1) within Thane district. The campaign aimed to dismantle drug supply chains and apprehend users involved in illegal narcotics trade.

Authorities confiscated a substantial quantity of drugs, including heroin, cocaine, and synthetic substances. The two foreign nationals arrested are believed to be part of an international drug ring operating in the region. The total value of the seized narcotics is estimated at nearly Rs 1.4 crore.
