First-Ever Election for New Constituency

Bajali is a newly created general constituency in Assam, falling under the Barpeta Lok Sabha segment. As a new seat with no prior Assembly election record in its current form, the 2026 count established the first-ever electoral benchmark for this constituency. Three candidates contested: Dharmeswar Roy (AGP), Kalyani Kalita (TMC), and Dilip Baruah (AJP). Since no previous Assembly result exists for this constituency in its current form, every number from today's count is the first of its kind. The result feeds into Assam's broader 126-constituency tally.

Record Voter Turnout

The estimated voter turnout in Bajali Assembly constituency was 84.95% till 7 pm, compared to 81.8% in 2021. This marks the highest turnout in the state's history, surpassing the previous highs of 84.67% in 2016 and 82.04% in 2021.
