Pudukottai: The people of Tamil Nadu had committed a 'historic blunder' by choosing the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as an alternative and would soon realise it, AMMK founder T T V Dhinakaran said on Sunday. He also stated that the 25 AIADMK MLAs who supported the TVK government during the confidence motion have been 'left abandoned.'
Dhinakaran's Allegations Against TVK Government
Speaking to reporters in Pudukottai, Dhinakaran asserted that the TVK government has turned out to be a 'major danger' for the state. He remarked, "Governments can seek time to implement welfare promises, but they cannot ask for time to improve law and order." He accused TVK of poaching legislators from opposition parties. Referring to former AMMK MLA Kamaraj extending support to the government, Dhinakaran claimed that TVK had 'stolen' an MLA from his party without his consent.
Questioning Legal Procedures
Dhinakaran questioned the legality of the Speaker accepting resignations of four AIADMK MLAs. He warned, "When the time is right, all this will be challenged in court." The AMMK leader dismissed TVK's claim of being a clean force, asserting that the party was surviving on image-building rather than governance. He added, "Reels cannot run a government."
Criticism of Chief Minister and BJP Leader
Dhinakaran noted that the chief minister had come to power with the support of DMK alliance parties and had yet to prove his government's administrative capabilities. Regarding BJP's former state president K Annamalai beginning a new movement, he expressed sadness over Annamalai's resignation from the BJP.
