The Bagh Sewania police in Bhopal have arrested five individuals in connection with a series of thefts targeting vacant houses. The accused were identified as Pradeep, Tanish, Nishant, Ravi, and Sharad. Authorities recovered gold and silver ornaments valued at approximately Rs 12 lakh from their possession.
Details of the Operation
According to police officials, the arrested individuals operated as a coordinated group. Pradeep, who works as a scrap dealer, allegedly played a key role in identifying empty houses and relaying this information to the other members. The group would then break into these unoccupied properties and steal valuables, including gold and silver ornaments.
Recovery of Stolen Items
After the thefts, some of the stolen ornaments were reportedly sold to a local jeweler. However, the police have since recovered all the stolen items. The investigation is ongoing to determine if the group was involved in similar crimes in other areas.
Police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity near vacant houses. They also advised homeowners to ensure their properties are secure when unoccupied for extended periods.
This case highlights the importance of community awareness and cooperation with law enforcement to prevent such incidents.
