Koppal: BJP district president Naveenkumar Gulagannavar on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on district minister Shivaraj Tangadagi over his recent remarks, accusing him of insulting the lives and dignity of ordinary people.
Bicycle as a Symbol of Honest Livelihood
In a statement, Gulagannavar said bicycles were not merely a mode of transport. For crores of labour-class and middle-class people, it is a symbol of their honest livelihood and self-respect. "Mocking the lives of common people reflects the culture of the Congress," he alleged.
Congress Accused of Diverting Attention
The BJP leader also accused Congress leaders of attempting to divert attention from the failures of the state by criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and spreading false propaganda about the country's economy. Naveenkumar said India had emerged as a strong global economy despite challenges posed by war and post-Covid economic slowdown.
Stalled Development and Irresponsible Statements
Accusing the state of stalling development in the name of guarantee schemes, he said that the ministers were making childish and irresponsible statements to divert public attention. He demanded that Tangadagi apologise to the people of the country for insulting those who use bicycles for daily commute.
A Call for Sincere Work
Ending his statement with a poem, Gulagannavar urged leaders to move beyond rhetoric and work sincerely for public welfare.
