In the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Bijoy Malakar emerged victorious from the Ram Krishna Nagar constituency, securing 1,34,013 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Suruchi Roy by a substantial margin of 83,765 votes. Roy managed to secure only 50,248 votes, while AIUDF's Anup Kumar Das Talukdar finished a distant third with 1,302 votes.

Ram Krishna Nagar is one of the 126 constituencies in the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is a general category seat, not reserved for Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, and falls under the Karimganj Lok Sabha segment. In the 2021 assembly elections, Bijoy Malakar had won the same seat by defeating Congress candidate Sambhu Sing Mallah with a margin of 36,221 votes.
