NEW DELHI: In the Gosaba assembly constituency of West Bengal, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Bikarna Naskar secured a decisive victory by polling 1,08,492 votes. He defeated Trinamool Congress candidate Subrata Mondal by a margin of 16,100 votes. Mondal garnered 92,392 votes and finished second in the contest.

In the 2021 assembly election, Jayanta Naskar from the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the seat. He had also won the constituency in the 2011 and 2016 assembly elections, representing AITC.
