Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao expressed confidence that K. Chandrashekar Rao will be re-elected as chief minister, stating that the party has gained more strength in the recent panchayat elections compared to the 2023 polls.
KTR takes dig at Revanth Reddy
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR said that Reddy himself admitted the Congress government has incurred a debt of Rs 3.7 lakh crore in just two and a half years. He also claimed that Skyroot received support from the BRS government, but the Congress government is now taking credit for work done by the BRS regime.
Forward Block leader joins BRS
KTR was speaking after welcoming All India Forward Block party leader Pillutla Raghu from Huzurnagar into the BRS at Telangana Bhavan. He highlighted issues during Congress rule, such as pollution in the Musi river and fluorosis, and contrasted them with the BRS government's initiatives.
BRS achievements highlighted
KTR said the previous government spent Rs 1,800 crore on redevelopment of the Yadadri temple, established an ultra mega power project worth Rs 35,000 crore, set up medical colleges, and addressed fluorosis with Mission Bhagiratha.
Congress government's lack of development
KTR alleged that two and a half years into the Congress government, there is little to show in terms of development. The six guarantees, poll promises, and 13 declarations have been ignored, he said.
Low-key celebrations for formation day
On the occasion of BRS' formation day on April 27, KTR urged party members to display flags at their homes and party offices. He also announced that, due to the summer heat and on the directions of party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, the plenary session would be held at the party office and attended only by state and district-level leaders.
Meanwhile, BRS deputy leader T. Harish Rao said Telangana would not have been possible without KCR. 'Our leader changed the fate of the people for the better after the creation of the state,' he stated.
