Congress Workers Hurt in Alwar Accident After Delhi Rally

A convoy of Congress workers met with a road accident in Alwar, Rajasthan, late on Sunday evening, resulting in injuries to several party functionaries. The group was returning from the party's 'Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod' rally held in New Delhi.

Senior Leaders Rush to Hospital

Senior Congress leaders, including former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh and state party president Jitu Patwari, promptly informed Rajasthan PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasra about the incident. Acting swiftly, Dotasra visited the SMS Hospital in Jaipur on Monday to check on the injured.

Dotasra met with the attending doctors to receive updates on the condition of the injured party members. Among those hurt was Mangilal Fauji, the president of the Sheopur district Congress committee in Madhya Pradesh.

Injuries Not Life-Threatening

After his visit, Dotasra provided reassurance about the health of the injured. "They sustained a few minor injuries, but none are life-threatening. This is a relief for us, though there are multiple fractures. Treatment is ongoing. They will get relief soon," he stated.

The news triggered a wave of concern and support from other senior party figures. Replying to Dotasra on social media platform 'X', Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari expressed his gratitude. "Heartfelt gratitude to Dotasra ji for immediately reaching the hospital and providing assistance when Congress family colleagues were injured in an accident. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of Sheopur district Congress committee president Mangilal Fauji and his entire team," Patwari wrote.

Swift Response by Local Workers

AICC in-charge for Madhya Pradesh and Baytoo MLA, Harish Choudhary, detailed the immediate response to the accident. He highlighted the role of local party workers in providing crucial initial help.

"Upon receiving information about the incident, our Congress workers from Alwar reached the accident site and took everyone to the hospital, and upon referral to Jaipur, Dotasra ji reached the hospital, inquired about the health of the injured, and discussed with doctors for their better treatment. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured," Choudhary said.

The incident underscores the risks associated with political travel, especially following large-scale rallies. The party's leadership has demonstrated a coordinated effort to ensure the well-being of its injured members, with all efforts currently focused on their recovery.
