The Vridhachalam police have successfully apprehended a notorious criminal who had been evading arrest and remaining in hiding for the past 25 years. The arrested individual has been identified as C Muthuraman, a 52-year-old resident of the Manalmedu area in Mayiladuthurai district. According to police officials, the case dates back to 1996.
Details of the Incident
Acting on a specific tip-off that Muthuraman, along with a few accomplices, was planning to execute an unlawful act near Aladi Road in Virudhachalam, a police team was dispatched to the location to apprehend them. However, in a desperate attempt to escape, Muthuraman hurled a country bomb at the police personnel and managed to flee the scene. Despite the initial escape, the police were able to arrest him later, and a case was registered and subsequently tried in the Vridhachalam judicial magistrate's court.
Evading Justice for Decades
Following the court proceedings, Muthuraman failed to appear for the scheduled hearings and went into hiding. For the last 25 years, he successfully evaded law enforcement authorities, remaining a fugitive from justice. The police have now finally captured him, bringing an end to his long-standing evasion.
This arrest marks a significant achievement for the Vridhachalam police in their ongoing efforts to bring long-wanted criminals to justice. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the case progresses.
