Pudukottai: The people of Tamil Nadu committed a 'historic blunder' by choosing TVK as an alternative and would soon realize it, AMMK founder T T V Dhinakaran said on Sunday. He also stated that the 25 AIADMK MLAs who supported the TVK government during the confidence motion have been 'left abandoned.'
Dhinakaran Criticizes TVK Government
Dhinakaran told reporters in Pudukottai that the TVK government has turned out to be a 'major danger' for the state. 'Governments can seek time to implement welfare promises, but they cannot ask for time to improve law and order,' he said. He alleged that TVK had poached legislators from opposition parties. Referring to former AMMK MLA Kamaraj extending support to the government, Dhinakaran said TVK had 'stolen' an MLA from his party without his consent.
Legal Challenges Ahead
He questioned the legality of the Speaker accepting resignations of four AIADMK MLAs. 'When the time is right, all this will be challenged in court,' he said. The AMMK leader dismissed TVK's claim of being a clean force, saying the party was surviving on image-building rather than governance. 'Reels cannot run a government,' he remarked.
No Administrative Capabilities Yet
Dhinakaran said the chief minister had come to power with the support of DMK alliance parties and had yet to prove his government's administrative capabilities. On BJP's former state president K Annamalai beginning a new movement, he expressed sadness over his resignation from BJP.
