Double Suicide in Barmer: Young Man and Sister-in-Law Found Dead in Desert
In a tragic incident in Rajasthan's Barmer district, a 20-year-old man and his 25-year-old sister-in-law were found dead in a deserted spot near Hathla village under the Bakhasar police station limits on Sunday. Police have indicated that the two were allegedly involved in a love affair and died by suicide.
Disappearance and Discovery
The pair reportedly left their homes late on Saturday night without informing any family members. They traveled approximately 1.5 kilometers from Hathla village to a remote, deserted area. When relatives woke up on Sunday morning and could not locate them, a search was initiated.
Around 11 a.m., a local goat herder stumbled upon the bodies and immediately alerted villagers and the families. Upon receiving the information, police officials, including the Station House Officer (SHO), rushed to the scene to begin their investigation.
Police Investigation and Evidence
A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was summoned to the location to collect evidence and conduct a thorough examination. During the investigation, police recovered a piece of paper from the young man's pocket. The paper contained a couplet written on it, which is being analyzed as part of the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Background of the Deceased
According to statements from family members to the police, the 20-year-old man was employed in farming. The 25-year-old woman had been married for five years and had no children. Notably, her husband was present at home at the time of the incident, adding a layer of complexity to the case.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact motives and sequence of events leading to this heartbreaking double suicide. The community in Hathla village and surrounding areas has been left in shock by this devastating occurrence.
