Dhanbad: The arrested aide of gangster Prince Khan, Saifuddin Abbas Naqvi alias Saifi alias Major, has disclosed details about the threat message issued to Jharia MLA Ragini Singh in March 2023 during interrogation, according to police sources.
Threat Orchestrated by Prince at Brother's Instigation
Police sources said that Major stated the threat made to Singh was orchestrated by Prince, allegedly at the instigation of his brother Bunty, who is lodged in jail. Bunty informed Prince about a statement made by Singh against him, provoking the gangster to release a video message threatening her, Major told investigators. The incident reportedly triggered unrest in the jail, where clashes broke out between rival groups, leading to an assault on Bunty and his supporters.
Links to Businessmen and Political Figures
Interrogation of Major has also uncovered alleged links between Prince and several businessmen, contractors, and individuals associated with political parties in Dhanbad. Major is said to have provided names of those who were allegedly in contact with Prince and regularly paid extortion money. Police have obtained technical evidence, including call records, indicating communication between Prince and certain contractors, political figures, and media persons.
SSP Prabhat Kumar said that multiple police teams are interrogating Major on different aspects of the case. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the interrogation progresses.
