The Karnataka government has effected a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring multiple senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the state. The orders, issued late on Thursday, involve changes in key administrative and police positions, including district in-charge secretaries, deputy commissioners, and superintendents of police.
Key IAS Transfers
Among the notable IAS transfers, G. Kumar Naik, a 2007-batch officer, has been posted as the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation. Previously, he was serving as the Commissioner of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Another senior officer, R. Venkatesh Kumar, a 2009-batch IAS, has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru district. He was earlier the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation.
Several deputy commissioners have been moved to new districts. For instance, K. V. Rajendra, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been transferred from Davanagere to become the Deputy Commissioner of Chitradurga. Similarly, K. S. Satyabhama, a 2013-batch officer, has been moved from Hassan to take charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Kolar district.

Major IPS Reshuffle
The IPS transfers also include several key positions. B. B. Ashok Kumar, a 2007-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police for the City of Mysuru. He was earlier serving as the Superintendent of Police for Dakshina Kannada district. Another senior IPS officer, Dr. K. M. Shankar, a 2008-batch officer, has been posted as the Superintendent of Police for Dakshina Kannada district, replacing Ashok Kumar.
Several superintendents of police have been moved to new districts. For example, R. Chethan, a 2012-batch IPS, has been transferred from Udupi to become the Superintendent of Police for Chikkamagaluru. Likewise, K. S. Ramesh, a 2013-batch officer, has been moved from Kolar to take charge as the Superintendent of Police for Udupi district.
Other IPS Appointments
In other IPS appointments, Dr. M. N. Anucheth, a 2014-batch officer, has been posted as the Superintendent of Police for Ramanagara district. He was previously serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) in Bengaluru City. Additionally, K. T. The transfers are seen as part of the state government's routine administrative exercise to optimize officer deployment and address vacancies. The orders have been issued with immediate effect, and the officers concerned have been directed to assume their new positions at the earliest.
