Kota Mosque Vandalized During Holi Procession; Police Detain Suspects
In a disturbing incident in Bundi district, Rajasthan, a mosque was allegedly vandalized during a Holi procession on Wednesday, leading to heightened tensions in the area. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Uma Sharma, some individuals in the procession threw black color on the mosque in Alod village, located in the Dablana police station area.
Police Swiftly Intervene to Control Situation
Police officers, including ASP Sharma, rushed to the village upon receiving reports and managed to control the situation before it could escalate further. Sharma confirmed that police have detained some suspects, who are currently being interrogated to ascertain their involvement in the offense.
"Some miscreants in a Holi procession passing through Alod village on Wednesday at noon allegedly threw black color over a mosque, which tainted its front wall and entrance," Sharma stated, detailing the incident that occurred around midday.
Community Confrontation and Police Assurance
The act of vandalism prompted members of the minority community to gather outside the mosque and confront the individuals in the Holi procession. However, police arrived promptly and pacified the crowd, assuring them of strict action against those responsible. To prevent any untoward incidents, police personnel were deployed in the village.
Sharma emphasized that the confrontation did not involve any stone-pelting or manhandling, and the situation was handled without further violence. "The situation in the village is under control and normal, with police force deployed there," she added, highlighting the measures taken to maintain peace.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident by examining footage from CCTV cameras installed along the route of the procession. This step is crucial for identifying the miscreants and gathering evidence to support legal proceedings.
