A 17-year-old girl from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in Phagwara has reportedly gone missing under suspicious circumstances, prompting the police to register a kidnapping case. The teenager has been missing from her residence since the night of June 5, according to a complaint filed by her mother, Kulwant Kaur. Despite extensive searches among relatives and acquaintances, her whereabouts remain unknown. The complainant has expressed suspicion that a local resident, Ravi Kumar, may have lured and confined the minor at an undisclosed location.
Acting on the complaint, the police have registered a case and launched a search operation to trace the girl and apprehend the accused. Authorities are investigating all leads and have urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.
Shopkeeper Attacked in Satnampura
In a separate incident, a shopkeeper from Satnampura sustained injuries after allegedly being attacked while travelling on his scooter. The complainant alleged that the accused intercepted, assaulted, and attempted to stab him with scissors. The victim suffered an injury to his arm while trying to defend himself. The police have arrested the accused and initiated further proceedings. The motive behind the attack is under investigation.
