New Volvo Bus Service to Connect Two Karnataka Cities

Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy has announced the launch of a much-awaited Volvo bus service between Mysuru and Chikkamagaluru. This development comes as part of the state government's broader initiative to enhance public transportation infrastructure across Karnataka.

Budget Allocation for New Buses

In the recent state budget, the government has sanctioned 2,000 new buses for various routes across Karnataka. Out of this substantial allocation, 900 buses have been specifically allotted to KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) to strengthen its fleet and improve connectivity.

Timeline for Implementation

Minister Ramalinga Reddy confirmed that the new Mysuru-Chikkamagaluru Volvo bus service will become operational within the next two to three months. This timeline ensures that commuters between these two important cities will soon experience comfortable and efficient travel options.

The announcement, made on November 18, 2025, addresses long-standing demands from residents and frequent travelers who have been seeking better transportation links between these destinations. The Volvo bus service is expected to significantly reduce travel time while providing superior comfort compared to existing options.

This initiative represents a significant step in improving inter-city connectivity in Karnataka and demonstrates the government's commitment to upgrading public transportation infrastructure. The new service will particularly benefit tourists, students, and business travelers who regularly commute between these cities.
