The deceased has been identified as Sarthak Rahane, a resident of Jadhav Sankul in Ashok Nagar, Satpur. According to the Nashik Taluka police, the four injured youths are currently receiving treatment at private hospitals in the city. The police have registered a case of accidental death in connection with the tragedy.

Inspector Mrudula Naik of the Nashik Taluka police station provided details of the accident. "The victims, most of them college students, had visited the Kashyapi Dam at Girnare village for recreation. After spending time in the dam area, they were returning home from Girnare to Satpur when the accident occurred at approximately 5 pm," Naik stated.
The police investigation indicates that Rahane was driving the car when he apparently lost control of the vehicle while crossing a small bridge over a nullah. "The car rammed into the protective wall of the bridge before falling into the nullah below," Inspector Naik explained.
