Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Presents Awards at Police Week Ceremony, Visits Darbhanga for Memorial

In a significant event highlighting law enforcement achievements, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar participated in the annual Bihar Police Week prize distribution and parade on Tuesday at Mithilesh Stadium in Patna. The ceremony underscored the state's commitment to recognizing excellence and cooperation within the police force and the community.

Parade Inspection and Award Distribution

CM Nitish Kumar commenced the proceedings by inspecting a march past that featured eight distinguished contingents. These included the special task force, Gorkha battalion, anti-riot battalion, and women’s battalion, showcasing the diversity and strength of Bihar's police units. During the event, Kumar presented certificates to notable individuals for their contributions. The recipients were Gaya SSP Sushil Kumar, sub-inspector Aniruddh Kumar, and the wife of the late Bishwa Oraon, honoring their service and sacrifice.

Additionally, the Chief Minister presented a citation from the central government to the Darbhanga city police station, acknowledging its exemplary performance. Kumar also recognized several citizens for their cooperation with the police, emphasizing the importance of community-police collaboration. The citizens honored included Mohammad Akhtar Ansari, Omprakash Pandey, Amit Kumar, Anand Madhav Mishra, Laxmi Khatri, Sunil Prasad, Utim Gaddi, Ravindra Kumar, Raju Kamat, Iqbal Hasan, Dheeraj Kumar Yadav, and Aman Yadav.

High-Profile Attendance and Darbhanga Visit

The ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, DGP Vinay Kumar, and additional chief secretary Arvind Kumar Chaudhary. Principal secretary Deepak Kumar and secretaries Kumar Ravi and Chandrashekhar Singh were also present, highlighting the event's significance in the state's administrative calendar.

Later in the day, CM Nitish Kumar traveled to Shastri Chowk in Darbhanga. He visited the residence of BJP state president and MLA Sanjay Saraogi to attend the shradh programme of Saraogi’s mother, Radha Devi Saraogi. During the visit, Kumar offered flowers to the portrait of Radha Devi Saraogi and interacted with family members, expressing condolences and solidarity. Bihar assembly speaker Prem Kumar and former minister Shahnawaz Hussain accompanied the Chief Minister during this visit, underscoring the cross-party respect and communal harmony in the state.
