Lucknow: Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav over his remarks concerning alleged irregularities in donations offered at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Pathak accused Yadav of spreading rumours and attempting to create a false narrative around the issue.
Pathak alleged that the SP chief was making unsuccessful attempts to mislead the public by raising questions related to the Ram Temple. “Akhilesh is trying to spread rumours and manufacture falsehoods. He never respected the verdict of the Supreme Court on the Ram Janmabhoomi matter,” Pathak said.
He further stated that Akhilesh remained silent during key milestones associated with the temple project, including the construction of the temple in Ayodhya. “When the foundation stone for the Ram Temple was laid, not a word came from Akhilesh Yadav. Even when the grand temple structure was taking shape in Ayodhya, he remained silent. When the idol of Lord Ram was consecrated, he did not welcome the occasion. Now he is attempting to spread misinformation regarding the temple,” Pathak alleged.
The deputy chief minister’s comments come in response to Akhilesh Yadav’s recent statements questioning the transparency of donations collected for the Ram Temple. Pathak emphasized that the temple construction has been a matter of faith for millions and that any attempt to cast doubt on it is politically motivated.
