The Patna traffic police have implemented comprehensive traffic restrictions around Boring Road to ensure the smooth counting of votes for the 14 assembly constituencies of Patna district. The restrictions will be effective from 5 am on Friday and continue until the conclusion of the vote counting process at A N College.
Complete Vehicle Restrictions on Key Routes
All types of vehicles, excluding emergency services, will face movement restrictions during this period. According to the traffic plan announced on Wednesday, vehicles will be completely prohibited from Boring Road intersection towards A N College, from Mohini Mor to Sahdeo Mahto Marg, and from Pani Tanki Mor on Boring Road towards the college.
Commercial vehicles face additional restrictions with complete prohibition on the route from Rajapur Pul on Boring Road to Hartali Chowk and Boring Road crossing. Similarly, all commercial vehicles are banned from Patliputra roundabout towards A N College and Pani Tanki.
Special Arrangements for Counting Agents and Candidates
The traffic police have devised specific routes and parking arrangements for counting agents and candidates. Vehicles of counting agents will approach from Bailey Road via Hartali Chowk through Digha R Block new road (Atal Path) to reach the back of A N College. These vehicles will be parked in one lane along Atal Path, with agents completing the final journey to the college on foot.
Candidates' vehicles coming from Boring Road and Hartali Mor will only be permitted up to Tapasya Mor on Boring Road, while those approaching from Patliputra and Kurji side can proceed only up to Pani Tanki Mor. From these points, all candidates must walk to the college premises.
Alternative Routes and Parking Facilities
Normal traffic has been advised to use alternative routes during the restriction period. Vehicles coming from Kurji Mor and Patliputra roundabout will be directed to park in the empty ground near Sahyog Hospital. The route from Shivpuri railway crossing to A N College (Durga Mandir) Mor will remain completely prohibited for general traffic.
The counting of votes is scheduled to begin at 8 am on Friday at A N College, where EVMs and VVPATs for all 14 assembly constituencies of Patna district are stored under tight security. The traffic restrictions aim to ensure security and smooth conduct of the democratic process.
