Ashoka Slams Congress Over Musical Chairs Amid Karnataka Crises
R Ashoka Criticizes Congress Leadership in Karnataka

Senior BJP leader R Ashoka has launched a sharp criticism against Karnataka's ruling Congress party, accusing its leaders of being preoccupied with what he termed as a "game of musical chairs" while ignoring pressing public issues. The opposition leader questioned the purpose behind Congress legislators meeting party president Mallikarjun Kharge if there were no plans to change the chief minister.

Political Maneuvering Takes Priority

Ashoka pointedly asked why numerous Congress leaders were holding meetings with party president Mallikarjun Kharge when the party maintains that there will be no leadership change in the state. "If the Chief Minister will not be changed, why is everyone in the Congress meeting party president Mallikarjun Kharge?" he questioned, suggesting internal power struggles were consuming the party's attention.

The BJP leader emphasized that while Congress leaders engage in what appears to be political maneuvering, several critical issues affecting ordinary citizens remain unaddressed. His comments come amid speculation about leadership changes within the state Congress unit.

Unaddressed Public Concerns

Ashoka highlighted three major areas where the state government has failed to deliver solutions. First, the persistent problem of sugarcane farmers continues without resolution, affecting agricultural communities across the state. Farmers have been demanding better prices and timely payments for their produce.

Secondly, human-animal conflicts are increasing in various regions, creating safety concerns for residents, particularly in areas bordering forests and wildlife habitats. Incidents of wildlife entering human settlements have been reported with growing frequency.

Thirdly, the state government has yet to compensate those who suffered losses due to excess rainfall during the recent monsoon season. Many farmers and property owners await relief measures for damages caused by unseasonal heavy rains.

Growing Public Discontent

The BJP leader's statements reflect growing opposition criticism of the Congress government's priorities. Ashoka suggested that the ruling party's focus on internal politics comes at the expense of addressing genuine public welfare issues.

His comments made on November 17, 2025, highlight the increasing political tensions in Karnataka as the opposition seeks to capitalize on perceived governance gaps. The criticism comes at a time when the state government faces multiple challenges requiring immediate attention.

Political observers note that such public statements from opposition leaders often signal intensified scrutiny of the ruling party's performance as political alignments and strategies evolve in the state.
