Rajasthan Mines Department Sets Ambitious Rs 1,500 Crore Revenue Target for March 2026
The Mines and Geology Department of Rajasthan has established a highly ambitious revenue collection target of Rs 1,500 crore for the final month of the financial year 2025-26. Department officials have finalized a comprehensive field-level strategy to ensure this significant goal is met, focusing on recovery of pending dues and operational efficiency.
Record-Breaking Performance in Current Financial Year
As of February 2026, the department has already recorded an impressive revenue collection of Rs 8,888.80 crore, marking a substantial 12% growth compared to the same period in the previous financial year. This figure represents an increase of Rs 952 crore over the corresponding period last year.
A senior department official highlighted the exceptional performance in February, stating, "In February alone, the department achieved a record monthly collection of Rs 1,060 crore, which is the highest ever in its history. This collection notably exceeded the set target of Rs 1,000 crore for the month."
Strategic Measures to Achieve March Target
To successfully reach the Rs 1,500 crore target for March, the department has implemented several strategic initiatives:
- Enhanced Recovery Efforts: Special emphasis has been placed on recovering all pending and potential dues from various stakeholders.
- Extended Operational Hours: Instructions have been issued to keep departmental offices open even on holidays throughout March to facilitate uninterrupted operations and ensure timely achievement of the revenue target.
- District-Level Success: Several districts, including Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Bhilwara, and Rajsamand, recorded recovery rates exceeding 100% against their February targets, boosting confidence for March.
Preparation for the Upcoming Financial Year
In addition to the immediate focus on March targets, the department is proactively preparing for the upcoming financial year 2026-27. Key directives include:
- Drafting a detailed action plan for the time-bound implementation of budget announcements.
- Completing all necessary preparations for the auctioning of mineral blocks and plots starting from April 2026.
- Ensuring timely replies to pending Assembly questions to maintain transparency and accountability.
