Rajasthan Staff Selection Board Reports Surge in Exam Conduct, Unveils Technological Advancements

Officials from the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) disclosed on Wednesday that the board has conducted an impressive 130 recruitment examinations over the past two years. This marks a substantial increase compared to the 107 exams held between 2014 and 2023, since the board's inception.

Transparency and Fairness Drive Exam Increase

The board has attributed this notable rise in exam frequency to the implementation of transparent and fair testing practices. Maj Gen (retired) Alok Raj, the RSSB chairperson, emphasized that while every exam faces vulnerabilities such as paper leaks or unfair means, the successful conduction of 130 exams in the last two years was made possible through the support of all stakeholder departments and the enforcement of strict security measures.

Digital Initiatives to Enhance Candidate Trust

In a move to bolster transparency and reduce concerns, RSSB officials announced that OMR sheets for all examinations will be uploaded online. This initiative will allow candidates to verify their responses alongside the official answer key, effectively minimizing worries about OMR tampering. Furthermore, the board is considering uploading these OMR answer sheets with additional details, such as which specific question paper set the candidate solved.

Recruitment Statistics Highlight Board's Activity

The recruitment efforts have been significant in scale:

  • From 2014 to 2023, RSSB conducted exams for 1,38,254 posts.
  • From 2024 until January 2026, exams have been conducted for 1,26,663 posts.

These figures underscore the board's active role in staffing across Rajasthan.

Future Plans: Tablet-Based Testing for Enhanced Security

Looking ahead, the RSSB is in the process of introducing tablet-based tests this year, aimed at further strengthening security protocols. These tests will be conducted in a hybrid mode to prevent any form of remote access, ensuring integrity.

Chairperson Maj Gen (retired) Alok Raj elaborated on the plan, stating that government schools will be utilized as exam centers, with an agency hired to provide the necessary devices. By leveraging government schools, security measures will be state-managed, eliminating risks of server tampering. In this system, candidates will access the question paper on the tablet but will fill their answers on a physical OMR sheet, combining digital convenience with traditional security.

This comprehensive approach reflects RSSB's commitment to modernizing recruitment processes while maintaining high standards of fairness and transparency in Rajasthan's public sector hiring.
