MUMBAI: Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) Member of Parliament Supriya Sule found herself caught in a massive highway traffic jam on Friday while traveling to Pune for a Maharashtra Day event. Sharing a video on social media, Sule stated that she was stuck for nearly two hours, with motorists around her also struggling in the congestion.

Video Highlights Everyday Commuting Challenges

In the video, the MP described the situation as a stark reminder of the everyday commuting challenges faced by citizens, especially on key routes connecting Mumbai and Pune. The footage showed long lines of vehicles barely moving, underscoring the severity of the traffic on the busy expressway.

Earlier Cab Refusal Incident

Earlier on Wednesday, Sule also highlighted Mumbai’s transport issues after sharing another video showing her waiting for nearly 22 minutes in Prabhadevi while trying to book a cab. With her driver unavailable, she attempted to hire both traditional kaali-peeli taxis and app-based cabs, but reportedly found no takers. Calling it a “ground reality” check, Sule pointed to the persistent problem of cab refusal and limited availability in the city.

Safety Concerns for Vulnerable Passengers

She also raised concerns about commuter safety and convenience, questioning how vulnerable passengers such as senior citizens or pregnant women would manage if left waiting in similar conditions. Her posts have once again drawn attention to Mumbai’s ongoing challenges with last-mile connectivity, ride availability, and traffic congestion.
