In a distressing incident on Tuesday evening, two young women athletes sustained severe injuries, with one in critical condition, after being struck by a car allegedly transporting United Democratic Front (UDF) workers on Asramam Link Road in Kollam, according to police reports.

Police authorities stated that the vehicle was returning from this campaign when it hit the pedestrians. Investigations by the police have revealed that the car involved in the accident is registered under the ownership of the son of Congress leader and UDF candidate in Kollam, Bindu Krishna. "The driver is a close friend of my son and also the son of a CPM leader in Thiruvananthapuram. Despite this, the CPM is trying to politicise the accident ahead of the election," she stated emphatically.
Krishna further alleged that a malicious and false campaign is being propagated against her and her family on various social media platforms, aiming to tarnish their reputation during the sensitive pre-election period.
