Udhayanidhi Stalin Honors Periyarist Activist V Anaimuthu at Centenary Event
Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, participated in the centenary celebrations of the renowned Periyarist and social justice activist, V Anaimuthu, held in Perambalur on Thursday. During his address, he emphasized the unwavering legacy of Periyar in the state, asserting that there is no defeat for Periyar in Tamil Nadu.
Praise for Anaimuthu and Periyar's Legacy
Udhayanidhi Stalin described V Anaimuthu not only as a source of pride for Perambalur but as a defining identity for the entire state of Tamil Nadu. He referenced Anaimuthu's own words, highlighting that Periyar's defeat would signify the defeat of all Tamils. "Periyar will always emerge victorious, and there is no defeat for him in Tamil Nadu. In the same vein, Tamil Nadu and its people will perpetually triumph. No force can hinder this progress," he declared passionately.
Commemorative Activities and Government Initiatives
As part of the centenary observance, the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated a photo exhibition dedicated to Anaimuthu and released a special centenary souvenir that compiles his extensive works. He noted that Chief Minister M K Stalin has officially declared all of Anaimuthu's writings as government property, ensuring their preservation and accessibility.
In a significant welfare move, Udhayanidhi Stalin distributed financial assistance totaling Rs359 crore to approximately 10,000 beneficiaries during the event. He outlined several key schemes introduced by the DMK government, urging public support for Chief Minister M K Stalin to further the state's development.
Call for Public Support and Future Plans
Udhayanidhi Stalin praised the Chief Minister's hands-on approach to governance, stating, "Our Chief Minister is unique in the country for engaging closely with the people on a daily basis. He does not confine himself to the Secretariat in Chennai but actively tours the state, implementing schemes and working tirelessly for the populace."
He assured that more welfare initiatives would be launched in the upcoming term and appealed to the people to back Chief Minister Stalin to elevate Tamil Nadu's development to new heights. "I request the people to support the Chief Minister in advancing Tamil Nadu's progress to the next level," he concluded, reinforcing the government's commitment to social justice and public welfare.
