In a significant anti-encroachment operation, the Yamunanagar administration has completely demolished an unauthorized colony that had illegally occupied government land in the district. The large-scale demolition drive targeted structures built without proper approvals on prime land.
Massive Demolition Operation Conducted
The Municipal Corporation of Yamunanagar executed the demolition on Thursday, removing approximately 30 illegal structures that constituted the unauthorized colony. The operation was carried out under the supervision of MC Commissioner Raman Kumar Kamboj, who personally oversaw the proceedings to ensure proper implementation.
According to officials, the colony had been established without obtaining any necessary permissions from the competent authorities. The illegal construction spanned across a substantial area of five acres of government land, representing a significant case of land encroachment in the region.
Legal Basis and Execution
The demolition action was initiated following specific directions from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which had taken cognizance of the illegal occupation. The court had issued clear instructions to remove all encroachments from the government property, prompting the administration to take decisive action.
During the operation, heavy machinery including JCB machines and earthmovers were deployed to raze the unauthorized constructions. Adequate police force was present at the site to maintain law and order and prevent any potential resistance or untoward incidents during the demolition process.
Administration's Stance on Encroachments
Municipal Commissioner Raman Kumar Kamboj emphasized that the action demonstrates the administration's zero-tolerance policy toward illegal constructions and land encroachments. He stated that similar drives would continue against other unauthorized colonies and illegal constructions across Yamunanagar district.
The successful reclamation of five acres of valuable government land marks a significant achievement for the administration in its ongoing battle against illegal occupation of public property. Officials confirmed that the land has been completely cleared of all unauthorized structures and is now back under government control.
This anti-encroachment drive is part of a broader initiative by the Haryana government to address the issue of illegal colonies and unauthorized constructions across the state. The administration has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to encroach upon government land in the future.
