Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Orders Swift Crop Damage Assessment After Unseasonal Rains

In response to the recent unseasonal rainfall that has impacted several districts across Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a crucial meeting on Wednesday. The heavy rains have caused significant damage to the rabi crop and triggered some fire incidents, prompting immediate governmental action.

Immediate Crop Loss Assessment and Compensation

During the meeting, CM Adityanath emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "It is natural for farmers to feel worried in such adverse circumstances, and the state government stands firmly with them." He issued directives for all affected districts to conduct a thorough, fair, and time-bound assessment of losses for every impacted farmer and sharecropper. This assessment is critical to ensure that immediate compensation can be disbursed without delay.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to work in close coordination to complete the damage survey at the earliest and submit detailed reports to the government. He also highlighted the need for collaboration with insurance companies to expedite the settlement of crop insurance claims, ensuring that farmers receive financial support promptly.

Financial Support and Relief Measures

To facilitate the compensation process, CM Adityanath directed the revenue department to allocate adequate funds from the State Disaster Relief Fund to each district. District magistrates have been tasked with ensuring that assistance reaches affected farmers immediately and that relief camps are established wherever necessary.

In cases involving fire incidents, the Chief Minister mandated that relief funds be provided to affected individuals within 24 hours, particularly where there has been loss of life or livestock. He stressed that eligible beneficiaries should be promptly covered under the Krishak Durghatna Beema Yojana, a farmer accident insurance scheme.

Housing and Accountability Measures

Additionally, CM Adityanath announced that families whose houses have been damaged or destroyed due to the adverse weather conditions will be prioritized for housing under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. He issued a stern warning against any negligence in relief and rehabilitation efforts, stating, "Any negligence in relief and rehabilitation work will be unacceptable, and accountability of officials concerned will be fixed."

Reiterating the government's commitment, the Chief Minister affirmed that the state stands firmly with every farmer and sharecropper during this crisis. Providing all possible assistance remains the top priority for the Uttar Pradesh government as it navigates the challenges posed by the unseasonal rains and associated damages.
