Vijay Asserts DMK Cannot Form Consecutive Governments, Accuses Rivals of Conspiracy in Thanjavur Address
In a significant political address, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay attended his party's functionaries meeting at Ayyasamipatti near Thanjavur today. The actor-turned-politician delivered a pointed critique of the ruling DMK, stating emphatically that the party has no historical precedent of forming a government in Tamil Nadu twice consecutively.
Direct Challenge to DMK's Political Claims
"CM (Stalin) sir says that the next government is also theirs, but it will never happen. There is no history of it," Vijay declared. He emphasized that even former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, father of current CM MK Stalin, could not achieve this feat. Drawing a vivid comparison, Vijay added, "The task of returning to form government is longer than the length of the Great Wall of China."
The TVK leader elaborated that genuine politics revolves around meeting people directly and implementing practical solutions. He reaffirmed that his party's fundamental intention remains working for the people's welfare.
Allegations of Political Nexus Against TVK
Vijay made serious allegations that enemies of TVK have formed a coordinated nexus to prevent the party from gaining public trust. "Our enemies are not bothered about people's feelings, but they have a pucca dealing not to allow another person to govern the state," he stated. The politician suggested this was a veiled attack on both DMK and AIADMK.
He detailed how this opposition has manifested: "One is drafting SOPs to stop us; another is blaming us. This is their dealing." Vijay traced this pattern of blame from the Karur incident through to the release of the film 'Jananayagan,' noting that while many including the Chief Minister voiced support for the film's release, their statements remained elusive. "Whatever it is, I thank everyone who voiced," he acknowledged.
Connecting with Agrarian Sentiments and Criticizing Governance
Symbolically clad in a green shawl as TVK functionaries arrived from eight assembly constituencies primarily representing agrarian zones, Vijay deliberately connected with agricultural concerns and farmer sentiments. He launched a sharp criticism against the DMK government for not taking stringent actions against the sand mafia, alleging this reflects broader governance failures.
"The Tamil Nadu government is heading for bankruptcy just like natural resources," Vijay warned, suggesting mismanagement parallels between financial and environmental resources.
Farmers as Central to Society and Governance Critique
In one of his most poignant statements, Vijay elevated the status of farmers while criticizing current governance. "Farmers may appear like normal people, but they are not. They are those who feed even the gods and help sustain life in the world," he expressed with reverence.
He continued with personal reflection: "I don't know much about the reincarnation concept, but if it is true, I would like to be born into a family of a farmer in my next birth. I accept that I do not know much about farming, but I will not deceive you by proclaiming myself as 'Deltakaaran' (expert farmer)."
Vijay concluded with a bold assertion about his political impact: "I am disturbing the sleep of CM Stalin by making people question." This statement underscores his growing confidence as a political challenger in Tamil Nadu's evolving political landscape.
