West Bengal Government Executes Major IPS Officer Transfers
The West Bengal government has implemented a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring 13 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across various key positions. Officials have described this move as a routine administrative procedure, similar to the transfers conducted on February 25 of this year.
Key Postings and Transfers in the Reshuffle
Among the notable changes, ADG CID Vishal Garg has been appointed as the new ADG-IG for the Western Zone. In a corresponding move, Ashok Kumar Prasad, who previously served as ADG of the Western Zone, will now take charge as the ADG of the Cyber Cell.
In North Bengal, Rajesh Kumar Yadav has been transferred from his role as IG of North Bengal to become the IG of the Bankura Range. Meanwhile, Sarbari Rajkumar, the former joint commissioner of Howrah, has been reassigned as the DIG of CID. Gaurav Lal, who was the DIG of CID, will now assume the position of the new joint commissioner of Howrah.
Additional Transfers and New Appointments
The reshuffle includes several other important transfers. Praween Prakash has been moved from the Armed Forces 6th Battalion to the Barrackpore SSF Battalion. Sudhir Kumar Neelakantam, the DIG of Raiganj, is now taking over as the DIG of the Murshidabad Range. Syed Waquar Raza has been transferred to Jalpaiguri, with Sanotsh Nimbalkar moving from DIG Jalpaiguri to DIG Raiganj.
In traffic management, Shishram Jhajharia has been appointed as the new IG of Traffic, while Sukesh Jain will serve as the IG of North Bengal. At the district level, Parijat Biswas has assumed charge as the SP of East Midnapore, replacing Mithun De, who has been shifted to the GRP Kharagpur Division.
Further appointments include Dyutiman Bhattacharya taking over as the DCP (South) of Barrackpore, and Papia Sultana becoming the new deputy assistant commissioner-SP for Barrackpore.
