Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a comprehensive review of the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar on Thursday, emphasizing the need to accelerate pending work particularly in the security domain ahead of its proposed inauguration next month.
High-Level Meeting With Union Aviation Minister
Following his inspection of the airport site, CM Adityanath chaired a high-level meeting at the airport's boardroom alongside Union Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. The meeting brought together senior officials from multiple critical agencies including the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Airports Authority of India, and Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL).
During the meeting, Adityanath issued clear directives to officials, stating: "Coordination with BCAS and CISF must be strengthened to ensure all safety norms are met promptly. This is one of the state's most ambitious infrastructure projects. Any remaining work, particularly concerning security must be completed with speed and the highest standards of quality."
Comprehensive Site Inspection
The Chief Minister, accompanied by senior state government officials, civil aviation authorities, police representatives, and construction agency executives, conducted an extensive examination of multiple airport facilities. The inspection covered:
- The terminal building construction progress
- Security arrangements and protocols
- Traffic management plans
- The designated venue for the inauguration ceremony
According to the official statement released by the Noida administration, a detailed presentation on project status, upcoming milestones, and inauguration preparations was shared during the review meeting.
Strategic Importance and Development Timeline
Adityanath highlighted the airport's significance as a new identity for Uttar Pradesh's development and global investment. He stressed the importance of timely execution, inter-departmental coordination, and construction quality while instructing all involved agencies to finalize every aspect of the inauguration plan without delay.
The Noida International Airport is set to begin operations with impressive initial capacity:
- One operational runway
- Annual passenger capacity of approximately 12 million
Upon complete development, the airport will transform into one of the world's largest aviation hubs featuring:
- Total area spanning 11,750 acres
- Five runways
- Capacity to handle up to 300 million passengers annually
The high-profile inspection and review meeting was also attended by prominent officials including PWD Minister Brijesh Singh, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Surendra Nagar, Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, Meerut Divisional Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami, Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, and District Magistrate Medha Roopam, along with senior officers from various departments.
