Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a stern warning on Wednesday, declaring that no individual, regardless of their influence, would be spared from bulldozer action if found guilty of illegal encroachment. The strong statement was made in the state Assembly during a discussion on the supplementary budget on December 25, 2025.
Zero Tolerance on Encroachment and Mafia
Adityanath emphasized that his government's foremost priority is creating a secure environment for every citizen. He stated unequivocally that anyone encroaching upon monuments, mythological sites, or government land would face consequences. "Whoever encroaches upon any monument or mythological site, I will not spare them," the Chief Minister asserted.
He specifically targeted mafia elements, warning that if any mafia illegally occupies government land and uses it for extortion or immoral activities, bulldozers will roll. "No one can stop it," he added, making it clear that political or financial clout would offer no protection.
A Transformed Uttar Pradesh: Security and Investment
The CM credited the changed perception of Uttar Pradesh, both within India and abroad, to the dramatically improved law and order situation since his government took charge in 2017. He claimed that the era where criminals chased police personnel is over. "This government guarantees safety to citizens, but it also warns criminals — 'reform yourselves or the road to Yamraj is open'," Adityanath said.
He linked this security directly to economic growth, stating that clear policies and strong political will have made UP a revenue-surplus state and a dream investment destination. Adityanath contrasted this with the past, alleging that the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) regime was responsible for the state's "BIMARU" tag and policy paralysis.
Allegations of Corruption and Appeasement
Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the opposition SP, accusing it of massive corruption in projects. He cited the example of the JPN International Centre, planned for Rs 175 crore but where Rs 860 crore was spent leaving it incomplete. Similarly, he mentioned the Gomti Riverfront project, estimated at Rs 167 crore but incurring expenses of Rs 1,400 crore while remaining unfinished.
The Chief Minister also accused the SP of selective justice and appeasement politics. He claimed the previous government failed to deliver justice to its own MLA, Pooja Pal, due to a lack of courage. Furthermore, he criticized SP leaders for their silence on attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh while being vocal on other international issues. "You cry over incidents in Gaza, but your tongues fall silent here because the victim is a Hindu, a Dalit," he stated.
Adityanath also directed the SP not to support Rohingya Muslims and illegal infiltrators when his government takes action against them, alleging that the SP had facilitated voter IDs and Aadhaar cards for them.
Concluding his address, Adityanath reaffirmed his government's commitment to welfare and security for all 25 crore residents of Uttar Pradesh without any discrimination, whether in ration distribution or access to schemes like Ayushman Bharat.
