The Kanpur Rapid Chess Championship, organized by Sharma Chess Academy, concluded successfully on Sunday with Aadhya Mishra of BNSD Niketan and Avijit Gurha of VSEC, Panki, emerging as champions in the girls' and boys' Under-15 categories, respectively.
Event Overview
The one-day tournament attracted 131 young players from across the city, who competed in a five-round format. The championship was inaugurated by ACP Kanpur Anand Kumar Ojha and school chairman Ashish Bajpai. The chief guest, International Master Dinesh Sharma, along with principal Punam Shukla and Dilip Srivastava, secretary of the Chess Association, presented trophies and certificates to the top three finishers in each category.
