Citroen Racing Teammates Vergne and Cassidy Fun Challenge

Citroen Racing drivers Jean-Eric Vergne and Nick Cassidy recently engaged in a lighthearted Teammates Challenge during a break in the Formula E season. Following the Monaco E-Prix, the series has been on a month-long hiatus, allowing drivers to relax before the championship resumes.

Teammates Challenge Highlights

The video, shared on Formula E's Instagram account with the caption "Learning lots about this teammate dynamic," featured the pair answering questions about each other. Formula E also described their relationship as "bestie goals" in the comments.

Cassidy identified Vergne as the more competitive driver, a sentiment the Frenchman confirmed. However, Cassidy admitted he complains more during races and credited Vergne as the funniest teammate with better music taste. Vergne noted that Cassidy talks more in team meetings, but Cassidy won for best race-winning celebrations. The New Zealander is known for singing Taylor Swift's "Love Story" with his team after victories.

Post-Retirement Plans and Age Difference

When asked about staying in motorsport after retirement, Vergne expressed interest in becoming a team principal, while Cassidy showed little enthusiasm. The final question on their age difference surprised Cassidy, who guessed eight or nine years, but Vergne joked, "Are you that young?" The actual gap is only four years.

Fans reacted positively, with one commenting, "Would love to see more challenges between the drivers. Loved it and enjoyed it." Another supporter wrote, "We'd love to see the Love Story winning celebration back."

Season Performance So Far

Jean-Eric Vergne joined Citroen Racing from DS Penske this season but has struggled, with an eighth-place finish as his best result. The two-time Formula E World Champion is 16th in the standings with 14 points. Cassidy, who moved from Jaguar TCS Racing, has fared better, sitting seventh with 71 points, three podiums, and a win at the Mexico City E-Prix. Notably, the Mexico City winner has become the eventual champion in each of the past three seasons.
