In a grand ceremony held at Metro Rail Bhavan on April 30, 2026, the Metro Railway Sports Association honored 41 sportspersons for their outstanding performances in various national and international tournaments. The event was graced by Metro Railway General Manager Shri Subhransu S. Mishra, who personally felicitated the achievers.
International Representatives Recognized
Among the awardees, six sportspersons had the distinction of representing India in prestigious international championships. They excelled in three disciplines: Bridge, Chess, and Table Tennis. The international representatives included Shri Sumit Mukherjee and Shri Sagnik Roy in Bridge; Shri Sayantan Das, Shri Mitrabha Guha, and Shri Arpan Das in Chess; and Miss Poymantee Baisya in Table Tennis. These athletes brought laurels to the country through their remarkable performances on global stages.
