Gandhinagar: Minister of State for Health Praful Pansheriya chaired a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the proposed Spine and Sports Injury Centre. The minister announced that Rs 295 crore will be invested to establish a world-class spine institute, sports injury, and rehabilitation centre at Medicity.
Support for Athletes
According to an official statement quoting the minister, Gujarat is set to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and has also submitted a bid for the 2036 Olympics. “This institute would be a major boon for athletes in the state by ensuring access to world-class medical care and rehabilitation services within Gujarat itself,” the minister said.
Facilities and Benefits
The proposed complex will bring together modern facilities under one roof for accurate diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of spinal disorders and sports-related injuries. The minister emphasized that the centre will provide comprehensive care for athletes and patients with spinal conditions.
