In a significant move to support one of Mumbai's premier fitness events, the Central Railway has announced it will operate two special suburban train services this Sunday for participants of the WNC Navy Half Marathon 2025. This initiative is designed to provide convenient early morning transport for the thousands of runners heading to South Mumbai for the major sporting event.
Special Train Schedule and Routes
The railway authorities have scheduled two overnight special services on different lines to ensure comprehensive coverage for participants. On the Main line, a special train will depart from Kalyan at 2.30 am, making its way to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) with an arrival time of 4 am.
Simultaneously, on the Harbour line, another special service will commence its journey from Panvel at 2.40 am, also scheduled to reach CSMT at 4 am. Both trains will make stops at all stations along their respective routes, allowing participants boarding from intermediate locations to access the services conveniently.
Supporting a Major Sporting Event
Railway officials explained that this special arrangement addresses the unique transportation needs created by the marathon. With approximately 20,000 participants expected to travel toward the starting point during non-peak hours when regular suburban services are limited, these dedicated trains will prevent logistical challenges for runners.
The Central Railway has actively encouraged participants to take note of these special timings and utilize the services to ensure they reach the event venue comfortably and on time.
