In a spectacular display of athletic prowess, Sri Lankan runners claimed double gold in the prestigious 100-meter events. The men's 100m final saw Sri Lankan sprinter Kalinga Kumarage blaze through the finish line with an impressive timing of 10.40 seconds, leaving competitors in his wake.

The women's 100m event followed a similar pattern as another Sri Lankan athlete, Nadeesha Ramanayake, showcased her explosive speed to secure the gold medal with a timing of 11.60 seconds. This remarkable double victory highlighted the growing international presence at the Khelo India University Games.

Indian Power Shines in Shot Put

While Sri Lankan athletes ruled the track, Indian strength prevailed in the field events as Samardeep Gill delivered a golden performance in the men's shot put competition. Representing Guru Nanak Dev University, Gill unleashed a powerful throw of 17.78 meters to claim the top podium position.

The silver medal in shot put went to Vipin Kumar from Chandigarh University, who recorded a best throw of 17.27 meters. Gursewak Singh of Punjabi University secured the bronze with a throw measuring 16.90 meters, completing an all-Indian podium in this strength-based discipline.
