The women's 100m event followed a similar pattern as another Sri Lankan athlete, Nadeesha Ramanayake, showcased her explosive speed to secure the gold medal with a timing of 11.60 seconds. While Sri Lankan athletes ruled the track, Indian strength prevailed in the field events as Samardeep Gill delivered a golden performance in the men's shot put competition. Representing Guru Nanak Dev University, Gill unleashed a powerful throw of 17.78 meters to claim the top podium position.
The silver medal in shot put went to Vipin Kumar from Chandigarh University, who recorded a best throw of 17.27 meters. Gursewak Singh of Punjabi University secured the bronze with a throw measuring 16.90 meters, completing an all-Indian podium in this strength-based discipline.
