The KSS Zone B Chess Championship concluded at Durga Prasad Vidya Niketan School in Kanpur on Thursday, with Sriram Public School emerging as the champions. The school accumulated 16 points over five rounds to secure the top position.
Participation and Results
A total of 145 boys from 29 schools across the region took part in the two-day championship. Har Milap Mission School finished as the runners-up with 15.5 points, while DPS, Barra claimed the third spot with 15 points.
Board-wise Best Performers
The championship recognized outstanding players on each board. The best performers were: Board 1 – Moulik Gupta, Board 2 – Shaurya Parihar, Board 3 – Arnav Singh, Board 4 – Astik Shukla, and Board 5 – Shubh Patel.
The event showcased the growing interest in chess among school students in Kanpur, with competitive matches and impressive displays of strategy and skill.
