University of Rajasthan Wins Inter-University Handball Title

Jaipur: University of Rajasthan emerged as champions in the All India Inter-University Handball Men tournament, which concluded at the University Sports Complex here on Saturday. The five-day event was organized by the University of Rajasthan Sports Board, featuring sixteen top teams from across the country.

Final Match Highlights

In a well-contested final, University of Rajasthan defeated UEM Chomu Jaipur 24-18 to clinch the title. Devendra, Mohit, and Dinesh Dudi each scored five goals, helping the hosts reclaim the championship after more than a decade. For UEM Chomu Jaipur, Divyanshu netted five goals, while Shyam and Ajay contributed four goals apiece.

Bronze Medal Match

In the hard-fought bronze medal match, Lovely University, Punjab (LPU) beat Saurashtra University, Rajkot 34-22. Manish led LPU with 11 goals, supported by Paramjeet (8) and Sumit (7). For the Rajkot side, Harsh (6), Jagraj (5), Bhavesh, and Nitin (3 each) fought valiantly.

Awards and Recognition

University of Rajasthan's Dinesh Dudi was named player of the tournament, while Hardayal of UEM University received the best goalkeeper award. The prize distribution function was attended by organizing secretary Dr. Pratibha Singh Ratnu, secretary of the sports board Kuldeep Dhankar, chairman of the university sports board, tournament technical director Subrat Saini, AIU observer Harish B. Raba, S.L. Pareek, and Pramod Singh.
