Vaibhav Rane Triumphs at Shakti Club Open
Nagpur: In a stunning display of resilience and skill, unseeded Vaibhav Rane mounted a remarkable comeback to defeat second seed Rajat Toraskar in the men's singles final of the Shakti Club Open ranking table tennis tournament on Sunday. Rane, who lost the first game, fought back to claim the next three and secure the title with a 7-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-9 victory.
Semifinal Upset
Earlier in the tournament, Rane caused another major upset by eliminating top seed Jayesh Kulkarni in straight games 3-0 in the semifinals, showcasing his exceptional form and determination.
Women's Singles Final
In the women's singles title clash, Vaishnavi Devgade registered a hard-fought 11-7, 8-11, 11-8, 11-7 triumph over Varda Kejgir to claim the championship.
Prize Distribution
Deepak Dhote distributed the prizes to the winners and runners-up. Ashutosh Potnis and Deepak Kanetkar were also present on the occasion.
