VCA Rapid Chess Championship to Take Place on May 10 in Ludhiana
The Vidyasagar Chess Academy (VCA) is organizing a rapid chess championship on May 10, 2025, in Ludhiana. The event is open to all chess enthusiasts, with no age or rating restrictions. The tournament will follow the Swiss League system and will be conducted under FIDE rapid chess rules.
Event Details
The championship will be held at the VCA premises in Model Town, Ludhiana. Registration begins at 9:00 AM, and the first round is scheduled for 10:00 AM. The tournament will consist of 7 rounds, with a time control of 15 minutes per player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.
Registration and Fees
Players can register online through the VCA website or in person at the academy. The registration fee is INR 500 per participant. Early bird registration until April 30 offers a discount of INR 100. The last date for registration is May 8, 2025.
Prizes and Recognition
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers: INR 10,000 for first place, INR 7,000 for second, and INR 5,000 for third. Additionally, special prizes will be given to the best performer in each category: under-12, under-16, and senior citizens. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
