Ashok Sharma replaces injured Yudhvir Singh in India A squad for tri-series in Sri Lanka
Ashok Sharma gets India A call for Sri Lanka tri-series

New Delhi, June 16: Ashok Sharma, who bowled one of the fastest deliveries in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at 154.2 kph, has been called up to the India A squad for the ongoing one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka. He replaces the injured Yudhvir Singh, who did not play in any of India A's first three matches.

Ashok Sharma's IPL Performance

Ashok Sharma played for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2026, taking six wickets in six matches. However, he was expensive, conceding runs at an economy rate of 10.85. Despite the high cost, his pace and potential earned him a spot in the India A squad.

Yudhvir Singh's Injury

Yudhvir Singh felt discomfort in his right shoulder while bowling on June 13, and had previously experienced similar pain during a fielding session on June 11. The BCCI Medical Team, after consulting a specialist, recommended a graduated rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) to ensure a full recovery from a right rotator cuff injury.
